Have you dreamed of having a devoted follower, someone who will never willingly leave your side? That's a tall order for human beings sometimes, but not with this precious, little dog we are calling Louis Vuitton! He possesses the personality and semi-wiry hair of a Brussels Griffon, a breed renowned for their velcro abilities. Louis has zoned in on his foster mom as his preferred person to shadow. He will alert bark and growl when anyone enters the door to where he is sitting with his foster mom. He doesn't lunge or attack, just stays in his person's lap. Once he figures out it's a family member, he settles down. Louis likely will bond best with one family member and tolerate the alternates in the house. He seems afraid of small children, so he would best be suited to a home without children or one with children who are dog savvy and patient.

Louis was a bit shell-shocked by recent events in his life, but he is gaining confidence and learning to trust more every day. Louis came in with a pinpoint eye ulcer, for which he has been treated. His sight appears unaffected, but he does have scarring on his cornea, which may heal with time. However, his adopter will want to consult a vet and be aware of the situation.

Louis is very loving once he's sure you're an okay human. He will growl at men occasionally, but not after they hold him once. When he's happiest, he makes cute pig grunts. He gets along with cats and doesn't mind big dogs as long as they don't play rough. His favorite spot in the house is wherever his human is, especially in the evenings. Louis is crate-trained and likes it when you leave some soothing music playing low. He will lick your face off whenever you need kisses.

Louis does well on a leash and will go potty when directed to do so. He'd make a wonderful travel companion for a retired motor home enthusiast! He enjoys being outside on his leash or sitting on the porch with his human watching the world go by. Because he is small, it's recommended he be outside in a secured fenced area only under supervision.

As he opens up more each day, he displays energy and athleticism and can jump pretty high and run very fast if given the chance. He seems to understand Sit and Lie Down, though it isn't yet consistent. His favorite toys are small plush or rubber squeaks, which he loves to fetch and return for another throw. When playing fetch, his boundless energy will require his human to enforce breaks in play and reminders to drink water due to his face type. He will not play fetch or engage with his toys when unfamiliar people or untrusted children are in the room.

Once he joins his new family, he may need time, patience, and lots of cuddles to feel safe and secure again. When that happens, the family will have a devoted, intelligent, goofy, and protective companion.

Do you have the time and room in your life to establish such a bond with Louis? He'd love if you were someone who stays at home most of the day or someone who would take him along on errands when possible or on daily walks.

He wouldn't be suitable in a home where everyone is gone for eight to twelve hours or the house is full of chaotic activites, at least not yet. Maybe once he fully regains his confidence and if he has a dog or cat sibling, he would adjust. He wants to be pampered and reassured there is someone upon whom he can count.
