RW....May '10 Duke, Duke, Duke, Duke of Earl, Duke, Duke....... you know the song, right? Well, I’m the “Duke”. Named for my distinguished shepherd mix look (45# ish) and about 4 y/o who unfortunately found myself left at the shelter because my owners had to move. Misfortune for me, but fortunate for you as I’m already house trained and all that kind of stuff. My foster mom watched me at the shelter being passed by. When she came into my kennel I won her over with a shy approach, a wrinkle in my brow, a single paw into her lap and my “Big Brown Eyes” looking up to her as if to say "I would be forever grateful to go home with you!" I’m great with other dogs that are laid back and kids, well, bring them on as I'm a soft gentle boy with them. Cats are ok too as I'll even let them eat out of my bowl or lay beside me BUT if they are up moving, I am completely interested and will follow them everywhere. Never nipping, not really chasing; more like herding. I'll walk with you gently, and I love sitting on the sofa, watching TV too, but affection is a # 1 motivator for me as I CRAVE affection! When my foster mom gets home from work I even do a “Happy Dance” and prance around wanting to be touched and hugged. I don't like crates much. I feel trapped in them. Trust me, I’m safe! I don't chew on anything and I like being the lookout all day for YOU! I’d like to sleep in bed with you, but am doing fine on a dog bed beside my foster mom right now, so it will be your choice once I’m yours. Considered a “Couch Potato” I’m ready for a life of relaxation with you after a long day at work. I am laid back kind of guy that just wants to be loved and share the “Good things in Life” with you. “Oh yes a paradise we will share” “Cause I’m the Duke of Earl”! Inside companion only please.
