About Rusty

  • Status: Adopted!
  • Species: Cat
  • Housetrained: Yes
Rusty is an incredibly cute mitted classic tabby orange boy who was born in a drainage ditch with five other siblings to a very inexperienced mom. As the runt of the litter, Rusty was not expected to make it and is a miracle purr baby. He and Rudy, his brother also online, were the only survivors in this litter. Rusty was quite the little fighter and tottered on the edge of survival for the first month of his life being so small compared to his siblings. Rusty is close to his brother Rudy and is the more reserved of the two kittens. Whereas Rudy is outgoing and gregarious, Rusty is calm, quiet and appreciates surroundings which are affectionate but not overly active with lots going on. About 10 weeks old (as of 7/24), Rusty will take time to adapt to new surroundings and other pets and will appreciate patience, gentleness and love from you while he settles in. He likes being petted and to be loved by you, and is a darling purring baby. He likes to play and watch others play, but again is more reserved and does not get so wound up with his playtime as Rudy does! In his foster home he is a cautious explorer, carefully checking out new rooms and new things he spies. Rusty will continue to blossom into a more outgoing kitten in a home that will encourage this but be understanding of his shyness too. Please email your application and consider adopting Rusty with his brother Rudy who has been his other half since day one in the world! IMPORTANT All adoptable pets are fostered in volunteers' homes. We do not have the volunteer resources to answer phone or email inquiries without a completed application. To ensure your inquiry about this pet receives proper and prompt attention, please complete an adoption application and send to the e-mail address beneath the pet's photo (there is no obligation to adopt).
