Moonie came into foster care when he was a month old. He was born with flexural deformity to his rear legs, because of this his muscles were not positioned or developed as they needed to be for him to walk properly. In fact, Moonie could only walk with his front legs, dragging his hind legs as he moved along. Most kittens born this way never get to grow up, they are euthanized or left to painful deaths as the flesh eventually is worn away from improper contact with surfaces, exposing the bone. Moonie is a miracle boy, and a lucky boy. He went through splinting and physical therapy exercises at his foster home, under the guidance of a great vet, and now he walks on all four legs with all four paws hitting the ground as they were meant to!
Moonie is about 6 mnnths old (as of 12/30), and SO sweet! He loves people and other pets and adapts very well to new faces, purrs and even woofs! Moonie needs to have another pet in the home to hang out with when you are at work or busy with chores. He loves to play with all sorts of toys, play cubes, balls that make sound and fuzzy toy mice. Moonie loves to cuddle up and be cleaned by another cat, he is just a very agreeable and friendly little guy! Active and loving to explore, Moonie is actually pretty easy going in the home. He loves being petted and to be held and will purr, purr and purrrrrrrrrrrrr! Moonie would be a very loving addition to a home which understands he needs to always be inside and to be cherished and treated always with love and kindness. He will continue to excel in strengthening his hind legs in a home that will have a cat tree so he can climb and jump and get great exercise. Moonie is easy to fall in love with, he worked so hard to do the impossible and learn how to walk, but he always knew how to love and be loved. Adopt this awesome silver tabby baby boy today and give him the promise of forever love.
