About Hope

  • Status: Adopted!
  • Species: Cat
  • General Color: Brown Tabby
  • Housetrained: Yes
Hope is about 2 years old (as of 5/2011) and an absolute sweetie! She loves people and being their companion and it is clear she was someone's pet at some time. However, she was found as a stray months ago and ended up at the county shelter, recently coming into our care and continuing her hope that she will find a home to cherish and adore her. Hope tested positive for FIV (feline immuno-deficiency virus), and because of this we are hoping that Hope will still find that purrfect family or home to adopt her. A few things, FIV is mostly transmitted through deep puncture wounds. Research show it is very unlikely that FIV can spread through water or food. It is impossible to spread via air. Contrary to rumors, FIV kitties can live normal life spans. She does not require any medicine or extra special care, but the normal requirement that she visit the veterinarian at least once a year so that she has a medical history established. Hope's foster parents are asking that an applicant live within a 200 mile radius of Georgetown, KY 40324 and read about FIV and talk to their veterinarian before applying. Hope is very affectionate and lives happily at her foster home among their other non FIV cats. She lets you kiss her on the face and purrs with delight. Hope is also a lap kitty and loves lounging on you or by your side. She is purrs nonstop when you pet on her and love on her and is a very happy kitty to be alive and to have kindness shown to her. Hope has a playful and engaging side, and is quite cute in play mode. Other times of the day she is sashaying about, room to room, or lazing on the sofa or in a patch of sun. She does very well with other cats at her foster home, and is a LOVER, not a fighter! She adapts very well also to new surroundings given a few days to acclimate. Hope has strong Norwegian Forest breed features and a lush long haired coat. She is absolutely beautiful and healthy and VERY lovable! Email your application and make Hope yours!
