About Lydia

  • Status: Adopted!
  • Species: Cat
  • Housetrained: Yes
Lydia is about 6 years old (as of 1/2012) and is a front declawed girl who loves people. She was given up by her home (who had her since she was a kitten) when her primary caretaker went to college and Lydia was placed in the basement to live. She came to us with a coat needing good nutrition and had scabs from flea allergies. Since then she has been getting good ol' TLC at her foster home and not only keeps improving in appearance but her personality is shining through - and you will love it! Lydia is very much a people person, and seems starved for affection. She was kept in a basement for some time away from people at her last home, so this explains her desire to be with you so much of the time. Lydai loves being held and she will also jump onto your lap when you are sitting, purring and purring quite loudly! She loves to have her ears rubbed and will head-butt your hand when you stop to encourage you for more affection giving. Lydia has not been used to other pets in the home for years, so in foster care she is getting reacquainted with the notion of sharing a home with another cat. She is not aggressive, but hesitant about getting to know other kitties. Her preference would to be the only kitty in the home, but she is tolerating the cat at her foster home and we are pretty sure if it is a friendly cat who will not harrass her, Lydia will do just fine. Lydia is very affectionate with people and will talk with you sometimes, purr others, and walk by your side and laze beside you the rest of the times. She is the ultimate companion! Her voice is very expressive and she has different tones to go with her different meows - Lydia has cultivated her own language. She still likes to play and is inquisitive about new things, but as an adult kitty she is definitely past the kitten crazies! Lydia would love a home to adopt and give her the love and attention she has wanted for so long, and to make her a true part of their lives.
