Meet Abernathy! She is a female Terrier mix who is 5 months old and weighs 20lbs as of 1/4/12. She may be a mix of Irish Terrier or a little of Wheaten Terrier, but we are really unsure! Her foster mom thinks she will be around 30lbs full grown. Abernathy is crate trained but will cry at first when she goes in her crate at night—however she will settle down. She does very well going potty outside and is taken out regularly. She will frequently cry at the door when she needs to go—it may be a good idea for her new owners to get a bell for her to ring when she goes out! However, she is still a puppy and will have accidents if not watched or taken out often. Abernathy was found as a stray, she was crawling with fleas and was scared to death in the shelter. She has now been in a foster home and is doing really well! She likes all dogs and does well with cats. We are unsure about children as she is not in a foster home with them. We imagine she would do well with supervision. She loves to cuddle with her trusted people or canine friend. Her favorite thing to do is to collect toys in her bed. She can be possessive over her toys, but she is getting better! Her foster mom says she is “absolutely adorable, devoted, and smart!” Abernathy would do best in a home where it is somewhat quiet with not a lot of yelling.
