About Shelby

  • Status: Adopted!
  • Species: Cat
  • General Color: Tortoiseshell
  • Housetrained: Yes
Shelby is about 1 1/2 years old (as of 3/2012) and was rescued from being euthanized at a shelter. She was declawed on all four paws by her previous home, and then they gave her up knowing she would have little chance of getting out of the shelter where she was left. But Shelby's sweetness and wanting to be loved saved her, and we hope she will now be able to find a home to cherish and love her. Shelby is very shy in new surroundings and she is not used to other pets. Her foster home, which has other pets, has found Shelby has a hard time to relate to other pets and acts defensively and unsure when another kitty or dog is nearby. When she is just with you, she is a different kitty and will purr and chat and arch her back for petting. Shelby is best suited for a calmer home with no pets or with just a very laid-back cat who will not mind Shelby taking a few weeks to settle in. Shelby is a beauty with her white mittens on paws, white bib and a tortoiseshell and calico mixed coat. She has a very soft coat which is near medium length. Shelby is a very good girl who will devote herself to you, and be a companion, snuggler and loving, interactive part of the home. Email your application today and give Shelby your love.
