Meet Sasha. She is a 2 year old female German Shepherd who currently weighs 50lbs. Sasha is on the smaller side but it is understandable as she has been through a lot in her first two years of life. Sasha was used for breeding and breeding only. She also appears to have been abused. Sasha was turned into a VERY high kill shelter pregnant and she was spayed very late term. Sasha is now with SCHS, where we are working to turn her life around. However it is going to take time. Due to being spayed so late, Sasha has been going through depression. Not only that, she is heartworm positive. We have begun treatment and her outlook is very good despite her poor health. Sasha is still very timid and shy, but with time she has begun warming up to her foster mom. She likes to be very close to her foster mom or she will take it upon herself to lay in the crate where she feels safe. At this time she appears to be calm and low energy, however she still may be showing signs of her fearfulness and depression. While she probably won’t be a high energy dog, we expect her to become much more outgoing in time. Sasha does do well with other dogs and is especially fond of puppies right now. She also does well with cats. Sasha needs a home where her new family will understand her needs. One where she will be loved and they will be patient with her. It will take some time before she will really trust you, but she will never be far from your protection. We are also looking for DONATIONS for Sasha’s heartworm treatments.
