Miami (aka Bagel) is an approximately one year old Beagle or maybe Bassett mix. She was surrendered by a displaced person to the fire department in late November because he didn’t want her out in the cold with him. She is an affable, loving dog who does well with friendly dogs and cats. She likes all humans, including the littles. Due to her age, she still loves to play and chew, so she wouldn’t be suitable for unsupervised children. She loves to be where her people are, so if you work from home and have a spot under your desk, she makes an excellent office mate.   Her energy level is pretty chill. She likes a ten-minute romp around a fenced backyard or a thirty-minute mellow leash walk; then she’s ready for her dog bed or couch with you.

Things Miami Knows:

Pottying occurs outside

Sit , Paw, and Come

Excellent on a longer leash (doesn’t understand a heel walk yet, but she isn’t much  of a puller because s he likes to stay in her handler’s vicinity)

Sleeps best on a dog bed in her people’s bedroom (likely would join you in bed if allowed)

Crates are okay sometimes  (currently, she barks and whines in her crate unless her foster brothers are  crated beside her )

Stairs aren’t that scary

Not to bark at the doorbell
