If you would like to meet this cat, please make a reservation to visit the Central Purrk Cat Cafe in-person. The staff there can guide you through the cat adoption process if the meet-and-greet goes well. Queen Polly is an American Curl which is an uncommon breed. She is also a Lynx Point Siamese and a Polydactyl to boot (well to her toes). She is an affectionate vocal lady, who loves her lap time. She has met the dog in her foster home and has not really reacted to her. She needs time to warm up to other cats. She loves to run and play with the foster kittens. The first American Curl appeared as a stray in Lakewood, California in June 1981. The black female, named Shulamith, gave birth to a litter of cats with the same backward curled ears, and so became the ancestor of all American Curls today. American Curl kittens are born with straight ears, which begin to curl within forty-eight hours into a unique shell shape. After four months, their ears will not curl more and should be hard and stiff to the touch at the base of the ear with flexible tips. The gene for the curled ears is a dominant one and Americal Curl's were crossbred with other cats who met the breed standard for personality and temperament which is playful, friendly, affectionate, inquisitive and easy going. They are known to be people oriented, intelligent and curious and often stay kitten like into adulthood.
