Zanzibar came to us matted and with a serious injury and infection from trauma. After months of TLC by our vet partners and fosters, he is ready for his forever home. Because Zanzibar is Persian, he will require a home that is experienced with the grooming needs of a long-haired cat and committed to providing an optimal diet of high-protein wet food and regular vet care. The flat faces of Persians puts them at higher risk for respiratory and eye issues. 

Zanzibar has a wonderful and gentle temperament and enjoys peace and a sunny spot on a bed or in a window. Persians are not hypo-allergenic and not fond of baths, so please consider this if you are allergic.

In the free text boxes of your application, please share your experience with long-haired cats, where you obtain veterinary care, and any other info that helps us ensure Zanzibar is going to his purrfect home.

SCHS Veterinary Care and Services for Cats (6 months of age and older): Prior to being placed for adoption, all cats, at a minimum, receive a veterinary exam, are neutered/spayed, tested for FeLV, microchipped, current on booster(s) and rabies vaccinations, de-wormed, flea treated, and checked/treated for ear mites.

SCHS Veterinary Care and Services for Kittens (under 6 months of age): Prior to being placed for adoption, all kittens, at a minimum, receive a veterinary exam, are neutered/spayed, tested for FeLV, microchipped, current on booster vaccinations, de-wormed, flea treated, and checked/treated for ear mites.
