Siamese / Domestic Short Hair / Mixed (short coat) : : Male : : Baby : : Medium
Frisco is a handsome Snowshoe Siamese mix kitten that is very active and loves to run and play. He is a special needs kitten who needs a special home as he has cerebellar hypoplasia which is a developmental condition in which the cerebellum of the brain fails to develop properly causing him to have jerky and uncoordinated walking. The cerebellum is the portion of the brain that controls fine motor skills, balance, and coordination. The condition is not painful or contagious and cats with it usually have a normal life span. There is no treatment for it. Cerebellar hypoplasia most commonly occurs when a pregnant cat becomes infected with feline panleukopenia virus and the kitten is exposed to the virus during pregnancy or soon after birth. Frisco had panleukopenia and survived it so he will likely have immunity for life. Despite his condition, he is a very active cat which you can see in the videos on his profile. Frisco needs a home with carpet or lots of rugs. He could hurt himself on hard floors because he falls a LOT just when he's walking. Also, no stairs in the home unless they are carpeted as he would definitely fall and injure himself. He can climb stuff, but has no support in his back legs when he jumps down, so he falls like a rock. He will slide and fall all over the place on slick floors like hardwood. He will need to be kept inside always and is not a good choice for a household with small children. Estimated DOB:4/3/22 Adoption fee: $80 (6% KY sales tax included) We would love to hear from you!
