Lizzie is a loving terrier-chihuahua mix looking for a special human to be her best friend. She was surrendered from a home with two other dogs, so she could probably settle into a new pack. Lizzie was in a foster home with lots of foster kittens. While she's curious about them, she left them alone when told to do so. The only exception is when an adult cat runs, then it's "game on, kitty!

Lizzie was adopted to a single owner  in an apartment and was not happy being left alone for extended periods of time.  She barked and became very anxious, even while crated.    Lizzie will do better with another animal companion or an owner who is often at home.  She has had several changes and seems to be developing a fear of being left alone.  Her ideal home would be a fenced yard or a fenced area for bathroom breaks and a dog or human companion who stayed with her most of the time.  She will bond quickly to her new principal caregiver and appreciates daily walks to burn off some of that terrier energy. Lizzie prefers to potty off the leash but is figuring out it's okay to potty on walks. She doesn't know any commands yet but is an energetic, loving girl that will be an excellent sidekick. She does great on car rides and behaves well in stores like Feeder's Supply and Lowe's. Won't you submit an application to meet this gorgeous gal with the coal-black coat and heart of gold today?

SCHS Veterinary Care and Services for Dogs (5 months of age and older): Prior to being placed for adoption, all dogs, at a minimum, receive a veterinary exam, are neutered/spayed, tested for heartworms and Lyme disease, and treated for internal parasites, flea/tick preventative , current on booster(s), bordetella and rabies vaccinations.

SCHS Veterinary Care and Services for Puppies (under 5 months of age): Prior to being placed for adoption, all dogs , at a minimum, receive a veterinary exam, are neutered/spayed , and treated for internal parasites, flea/tick preventative , current on booster(s), and rabies vaccinations. Puppies under 4 months of age will be placed into our foster to adopt program until the above services are met.
