Basset Hound / Shepherd / Mixed (short coat) : : Male : : Young : : Medium Learn more about the Basset Hound.
This is Braidy. Braidy is a Basset Hound and Shepherd mix. His body is all Basset Hound but he has an oversized Shepherd head. Kinda like Scrappy-Doo! We are calling him Braidy because of the real interesting markings that he has on his tail. It looks like it was braided! Braidy is around 5 months old and weighs 32 lb. Braidy does have some big paws, so we do expect them to get larger. He has been neutered and is up-to-date on all of his shots. Braidy has never met a stranger. Any time that someone walks up to him his tail starts wagging and he gets super excited. He loves everybody. He is the friendliest foster that we have had in our house. Braidy loves to play. He will tug on rope, he will chase balls, he will chew on squeaky toys. The type of toy does not matter, he wants to play. Braidy also loves to be outside. Whether it's just sitting on the porch or playing and running in the yard. He enjoys the outdoors. He also likes other animals. He really does love everybody. The only thing that Braidy does not love might be stairs. He hasn't quite figured out how to get up and down them. Getting into the car you will have to pick him up. We are working on training Braidy to use the potty outside. He is doing a great job. We had a couple of little accidents the first day here but he has figured out to go to the door when he wants to go outside. With a little bit of consistency we believe he would be house trained quickly. We are also working on walking on a leash with Braidy. Braidy enjoys the kennel. We leave the kennel door open and when he is ready for a nap he crawls inside the kennel. We put him inside the kennel at night and shut the door and he sleeps the whole night through. He does not start whining until he hears us get up in the morning. He does a great job sleeping through the night without having any accidents. Braidy also enjoys riding in the car. He lies down and seems to nap almost instantly once the car starts. We put Braidy in the kennel when we leave the house and we have never heard him barking. Braidy is looking for a family that wants an energized fun-loving puppy to spend his life with. He will walk up to you sit on your feet and just look up at you until you start to rub his belly. He is such a sweet and loving boy.
