Have you ever met a Dove that didn't like to fly? Dove is our sweet gray and white tabby male kitten that prefers to trill and chirp like a bird more than meowing like a cat. He loves the attention of his people and will often stand on his hind legs or arch his back to be pet, but he does not like to be held, or "fly," although he will tolerate some lap time if he feels secure. Dove is an attentive little guy that romps and plays with his littermates all day long before stretching out in his heated kennel to snooze. Dove does very well with the foster and permanent cat residents in his foster home, but it is unknown how he would do around dogs. Dove is young enough that he would most likely adapt quickly. Won't you submit an application to meet this little sweetheart today? Dove is currently dealing with ringworm , which is the common name for the skin infection caused by a group of fungi; it is not caused by a worm at all. Ringworm is closely related to athlete’s foot in people, and it is contagious to us; the young, old, and the immunocompromised are more likely to get it so a cat with active ringworm should not be adopted by a household with young children, elderly persons, or those with suppressed immune systems. Ringworm treatment typically takes about six weeks and involves giving the cat a once-daily oral medication in conjunction with lime sulfur dipping. Dove's treatment started on January 11. We offer reduced adoption fees of $15 for adult cats and $25 for cats under one year if you adopt and take them home while they have active ringworm. If you would like more information on adopting a cat with ringworm, submit an application and we will contact you. Estimated DOB: 10/14/2020 Adoption fee: $80 (6% KY sales tax included)
