Tabby / Domestic Medium Hair / Mixed (medium coat) : : Male : : Adult : : Large
The Dude prefers for you not to call him Mr. Lebowski. He's just "The Dude," or "Dude" to his friends. Dude is looking for a house with a nice rug that really ties the room together. He enjoys a good catnip toy, and he might have one or two too many treats now and then, but underneath it all he's just a chill guy who wants to live and let live, man. Dude is not intimidated by growling adult cats and we suspect he has spent lots of time around dogs. He cat tested a friend's coon hound foster dog and when the dog bayed at him, he said "Well that's just, like, your opinion, man." Dude came to foster care with a number of large wounds on his back. The wounds are in the process of healing and everything should be just fine with time. He loves the comforts of the house but has clearly been an indoor/ outdoor cat. We're not sure how he was injured, but his adopter needs to be aware that he is quite keen to get out and this may have resulted in his injuries. An ideal situation for Dude would probably be a house in the country or on a quiet street with a large shady porch that he could hang out on. We suspect that he will not be happy if he is forced to stay inside full time. Dude is extremely tolerant of being held and loved on and would make a wonderful kids' companion. He's also a total lap cat, all thirteen pounds of him. If The Dude has a vice, it's that he loves too hard. In efforts to show his affection, he likes to wind himself around human legs when he's in a purry mood, which so far has been at least 75% of his waking hours. Given that, he is probably best not adopted by anyone who has balance issues. Adoption fee: $53.00 (6% KY sales tax included)
