Katniss is an expert on social distancing and she'd like to show you exactly how it's done. She's had a hard road in her young life, starting out as a feral kitten and then getting trapped, spayed, and sent to the humane society. Unfortunately, all of this happened after the age when it is easier to socialize a kitten.

She's made big strides in her foster home, including learning to relax when she's held, eating while being held and petted, purring while being petted, and most recently, starting to play with a wand toy, but she has a long way to go in terms of getting used to house life. She has mostly been exposed to women but in her foster home she's learned that even though the man in the house might walk loudly, he's probably ok too. Katniss has never shown any fear-related aggression, only a preference to run and hide. She appreciates having a cat friend, and becoming bonded to another cat will, without a doubt, help her to be social. She is not suitable for a home with a dog or with loud children. She loves wet food, catnip toys, and Temptations treats.

Katniss will make you work for her affection, but it's worth it to earn those purrs.

Prior to being placed up for adoption, all cats (5 months and older), at minimum, receive a veterinary exam and are neutered/spayed, tested negative for FeLuk/FIV, microchipped, current on booster(s) and Rabies vaccination, de-wormed, and flea treated, and checked and treated for ear mites if needed.
