Richmond is a year old chocolate colored dog who weighs just over 20 pounds. He has an adorable tail that curls to the side! He has the cutest little face and loves to be beside his person. He is very shy and wary of new situations at first, but just needs someone to show him he is safe. He came to us with a sister, and she was also timid, but able to go to an adoptive home fairly quickly. He is taking a little longer to destress, but has gotten really comfortable with his foster mom and the other dogs. He is apparently housebroken and does not have accidents in the house when let out frequently. He sleeps in a small mud room and is doing fine overnight with a gate up. I would recommend a fenced yard for him because he likes to run around and is not yet comfortable on a leash. It will take him time to adjust to a new family, but feel certain with patience and reassurance, he will be as wonderful there as he is in his foster home in less than a week.   Adoption fee: $200 (includes 6% State Sales Tax)      Our pets are fostered in volunteers' homes, not at a shelter facility. If you are interested in adopting one of our dogs, please fill out one of our dog adoption applications ( www.sc4paws.org/forms)  and an adoption counselor will contact you with more details and to schedule a meet and greet. We do adopt out of state. Dogs/puppies are already neutered/spayed, temperament tested, microchipped, current on all vaccines, tested for heartworms and Lyme disease, and treated for internal parasites and flea/tick preventative  prior to adoption.
