Hello, My name is Annie, Orphan Annie.  I lived with a family until I was 4 months old, but they could not keep me and took me to the Scott County Animal shelter in September.  I stayed in that kennel for the next 2 and a half months, enthusiastically greeting all the visitors that came in looking for a dog.  But no matter how hard I tried to get their attention by jumping really high and barking, noone could imagine me as their new best friend.  The shelter folks thought maybe it was pent up energy and being confined that made me act so goofy and, frankly, unadoptable.

one day a lady came in and I had met her before when she came to get some of the other dogs.  She asked the shelter volunteers which dog she should take and they asked her to take me since I had been there the longest.

Well, she took a bit of time figuring out if I had calmed down enough to stay in her house while she tried to find me a home.  In the end, she knelt beside my kennel and when she opened it, I decided to let her slip the collar over my head.  And now, I am living  with her and her three dogs instead of in the shelter.  It is so different, but really good.

I am 7 months old now and weigh 34 pounds. I have lanky legs and love to play with other dogs.  I even know how to be gentle with the smaller dog who is also looking for a new home and living with us. I am being crate trained, so I learn to always use the potty outside, since sometimes I had to go in my kennel at the shelter.  I am doing great with everything, my foster Mom thinks I am ready to be adopted and loved by my forever family.

I love to ride in the car and look out the window and see how everything looks.  I would like a home where people love bigger hound dogs because that is mostly what I look like, except I have a Curly tail, so there could be some husky in me too.  I have the softest coat and I quite a pretty girl they say.

If you are looking at my picture and think I might be the dog you could love forever, fill out an application so we can meet each other and fall in love.
